London Medical Laboratory is one of the better private testing companies in the UK: venous draws, a very large clinic network including pharmacies, a wide menu of single tests and health profiles, and its own laboratory. If you want a specific test or a mid-size profile taken by a nurse near you, it does the job well. The gap is what happens with the tube once it is full: which markers are on it, and what you get back. Choose TrueVitals if you want the full picture in one draw, including ApoB, Lp(a), fasting insulin and cystatin C, which LML's standard profiles do not include, and a written report that explains what the results mean together rather than a table with reference ranges. The real difference
A standard health profile, from LML or anyone, tells you your cholesterol, your glucose, your liver and kidney numbers and your blood count. That is a description of today. The markers that predict where you are going are different ones: ApoB rather than LDL, because it counts the particles that actually cause atherosclerosis; Lp(a), because it is genetic, fixed for life and invisible on a lipid panel; fasting insulin, because it moves a decade before HbA1c; cystatin C, because creatinine flatters kidney function in anyone slim or older. LML can sell you most of those individually if you know to ask. Most people do not know to ask, which is why TrueVitals puts them in the panel.
LML is right for
Your GP wants a repeat ferritin; you want a venous testosterone rather than a finger-prick; you need a specific antibody test. LML does this well, quickly and near you if you are in the South East.
TrueVitals is right for

Honest comparison
Three places. Choice: if you want one obscure test, LML almost certainly lists it and we do not sell single markers. Proximity in London: their clinic density in the capital is hard to match, and if there is one on your commute that matters. Speed on simple tests: a single marker can be back next day. If any of those is what you need, book with them.
