London E14 · Canary Wharf and the Docklands
The people who most need a comprehensive blood test are usually the ones who cannot find ninety minutes for one. Long hours, early starts, a lunch that happens at a desk if it happens at all, and a GP appointment three weeks out for ten markers. A TrueVitals draw takes ten minutes at a clinic in E14, or the phlebotomist comes to your flat or your office before the morning goes anywhere. Up to 230 biomarkers from one venous sample, and a written report within 48 hours rather than a follow-up appointment you will also have to find time for.
Clinic in E14, plus EC1Y for the City. At-home or at-office visits across the Docklands for £39. No GP referral.

The short answer
Book a morning slot at the Canary Wharf clinic in E14, fast from 10pm, and be in the office by nine. If even that is difficult, a registered phlebotomist will come to your home or your desk for £39 and the sample is identical. Panels are £269 for 74 biomarkers, £349 for 114 or £799 for the 230-marker Signature. The report lands within 48 hours of the lab receiving your sample, in writing, with every marker explained.
Why this job, specifically
This is not a moral lecture about work-life balance. It is that the pattern of this job leaves a specific and measurable signature, and most of it is invisible until it is not. Six hours of sleep, a commute that starts before the cortisol peak, food eaten fast and late, alcohol clustered into two nights, and exercise that is either nothing or an aggressive hour at 6am. The result is a set of markers that drift together, and a standard GP panel checks almost none of them.
| What the schedule does | The marker that shows it | Why it matters now rather than later |
|---|---|---|
| Chronic short sleep and early starts | Morning cortisol and DHEA-S | A flattened rhythm explains the wired-but-exhausted feeling and the 3am waking, and it drives appetite and fat storage |
| Late, fast, carb-heavy eating | Fasting insulin and HOMA-IR | Insulin resistance runs for a decade before HbA1c moves. It is the earliest thing you can actually reverse |
| Family history plus sedentary hours | ApoB and Lp(a) | ApoB counts the particles that cause heart disease; Lp(a) is genetic, affects around one in five, and is tested once for life |
| Alcohol concentrated into a few nights | GGT, ALT and triglycerides | GGT moves before anything feels wrong, and falls again within weeks of cutting back |
| Stress, poor sleep and low sunlight | Testosterone with SHBG, or oestradiol and FSH | Explains the flat mood, low drive and poor recovery that get blamed on the job rather than measured |
| Skipped meals and heavy coffee | Ferritin, B12, folate, vitamin D | The commonest cause of tiredness in people who assume tiredness is just the hours |
| Low-grade inflammation from all of it | hs-CRP | Sits in the 1 to 3 range that a standard CRP test cannot see, and predicts cardiovascular risk independently |
Guides: cortisol, insulin resistance, ApoB, Lp(a), liver, hs-CRP.

Practical
Timing
Cortisol only means something drawn between about 8 and 9am, and fasting insulin and lipids need an overnight fast. The 8am appointment you were booking for convenience is also the one that produces the most interpretable results. Eat the night before, water is fine, coffee is not.
Training
Heavy lifting or a hard session raises creatine kinase, ALT and AST, which can make a perfectly healthy liver look inflamed on paper. If you train before work, take the two days before the draw lightly. Why gym-goers read differently.
Expenses
An executive health check is a common company expense and you will get a receipt suitable for it. If several colleagues want one, an at-home phlebotomist can do a group at the office. Executive health check.
Repeat
One panel is a snapshot. Two, six or twelve months apart, is a direction, and direction is what tells you whether the changes you made worked. Every report compares against your last. Why annual testing.
FAQs
At the TrueVitals partner clinic in E14 on the estate, at Whitecross Street (EC1Y) if you are in the City, at two Royal Docks clinics in E16, or at your home or office anywhere in London for £39. No GP referral is needed for any of them.
Yes. An at-home visit costs £39 and the address can be your workplace as easily as your flat, provided there is somewhere private to sit for ten minutes. If colleagues want to test at the same time, that can usually be arranged in one visit.
Early morning slots are available and are the right choice: an 8 to 9am fasted draw gives readable cortisol and fasting insulin, and means the shortest possible fast. You will be in the office well before nine.
Morning cortisol and DHEA-S, fasting insulin and HOMA-IR, ApoB and Lp(a), GGT and liver function, sex hormones with SHBG, ferritin, B12, folate and vitamin D, and hs-CRP. The Ultimate panel covers all of them in one draw.
For the fast, yes: water only from 10pm. Black coffee can affect glucose and lipid readings, so leave it until after the draw. It is ten minutes and then you can get one on the way in. Full preparation guide.
Many people do. You will receive a receipt suitable for a company expense claim, and Payl8r is available at checkout if you would rather spread the cost personally.
Advanced and Ultimate reports arrive within 48 hours of the laboratory receiving your sample, usually the same day as the draw. Signature takes around 12 working days.
Up to 230 biomarkers from one venous draw in E14, or at your desk, with a written report within 48 hours that explains what the hours are actually doing.
