Signature panel
The Signature panel, 230 biomarkers processed by Randox Health, is collected at the Randox Health clinic at Victoria Gate in Leeds city centre, twenty minutes from Bradford Interchange or Forster Square by train and a short walk from the station.& Two further Randox sites in Leeds, at Joseph's Well and Alwoodley, are shown at booking. It adds extended cardiovascular apolipoproteins, homocysteine, a full autoimmune and digestive profile, neurological markers and physical measurements to everything in Ultimate, and the £799 price includes the draw. Why Bradford
Bradford has one of the highest rates of type 2 diabetes in England and one of the youngest populations, which means the metabolic problem starts earlier and runs longer than almost anywhere else. The Born in Bradford study found vitamin D deficiency in the majority of South Asian mothers it tested, and the district's cardiovascular mortality sits well above the national average. None of this is caught by an NHS Health Check that tests fewer than ten markers once every five years. The two most useful things a Bradford resident can know are their insulin resistance, years before HbA1c moves, and their ApoB and Lp(a), the particle-count and genetic markers the NHS does not test. Add vitamin D, ferritin and thyroid, and you have the case for a panel rather than a single test.
Fasting insulin and HOMA-IR show the problem 10 to 15 years before HbA1c leaves the normal range, while it is still reversible. Both are in the Ultimate panel. HbA1c guide.
The cardiovascular markers that outperform cholesterol, and the ones that explain heart disease in people with "normal" results. ApoB is in every panel; Lp(a) in Ultimate and Signature. ApoB guide.Lp(a) guide.
The four deficiencies behind most unexplained tiredness, all in every panel, all read against each other so the report can tell which one is actually the cause. Vitamin D guide.
