Signature panel
The Signature panel, 230 biomarkers processed by Randox Health, is collected at the Randox Health clinic inside Holland & Barrett at the Highcross Centre. See the Signature panel.
Why Leicester
Leicester has one of the highest rates of type 2 diabetes in England, and the city's large South Asian community carries elevated cardiovascular risk at cholesterol levels a standard lipid test would call normal. Both facts point to the same conclusion: the two most useful things a Leicester resident can know are their insulin resistance, years before HbA1c moves, and their ApoB and Lp(a), the particle-count and genetic markers the NHS does not test. Add vitamin D, which runs low across the city through the winter and lower still in darker skin, and you have the case for a panel rather than a single test.
Fasting insulin and HOMA-IR show the problem 10 to 15 years before HbA1c leaves the normal range, while it is still reversible. Both are in the Ultimate panel. HbA1c guide.
The cardiovascular markers that outperform cholesterol, and the ones that explain heart disease in people with "normal" results. ApoB is in every panel; Lp(a) in Ultimate and Signature. ApoB guide.Lp(a) guide.
The four deficiencies behind most unexplained tiredness, all in every panel, all read against each other so the report can tell which one is actually the cause. Vitamin D guide.
