Signature panel
The Signature panel, 230 biomarkers processed by Randox Health, is collected at one of Randox Health's London clinics, with Paddington under half an hour from Reading on the Elizabeth line or GWR; Winchester's Holland & Barrett clinic is an alternative. The exact location is confirmed at booking. It adds extended cardiovascular apolipoproteins, homocysteine, a full autoimmune and digestive profile, neurological markers and physical measurements to everything in Ultimate, and the £799 price includes the draw. Why Reading
Reading is one of the most desk-bound working populations in the country: the Thames Valley technology corridor, long commutes on the M4 and into Paddington, and a health profile that looks fine on the outside and quietly metabolic underneath. The markers that matter here are the ones a busy professional never has tested: fasting insulin and HOMA-IR, which show insulin resistance a decade before HbA1c moves; ApoB and Lp(a), which explain cardiovascular risk in people with normal cholesterol; and morning cortisol, testosterone and thyroid, which are where sustained pressure shows up first. An NHS Health Check tests fewer than ten markers once every five years and none of these. That is the case for a panel rather than a single test.
Fasting insulin and HOMA-IR show the problem 10 to 15 years before HbA1c leaves the normal range, while it is still reversible. Both are in the Ultimate panel. HbA1c guide.
The cardiovascular markers that outperform cholesterol, and the ones that explain heart disease in people with "normal" results. ApoB is in every panel; Lp(a) in Ultimate and Signature. ApoB guide.Lp(a) guide.
The hormones behind energy, drive, sleep and weight, and the ones a high-pressure job moves first. Morning cortisol and DHEA-S in every panel; the complete hormone set in Ultimate. Cortisol guide.Executive health check.
