Add-on · Women's health and fertility
An AMH (anti-Müllerian hormone) blood test estimates how many eggs remain in your ovaries, known as ovarian reserve. It does not tell you whether you can get pregnant naturally. You can add AMH to TrueVitals Ultimate for £129, where it is read alongside FSH, LH, oestradiol, progesterone, prolactin and thyroid results.
Add-ons are tested on the same blood draw as your panel and reported inside your clinician-reviewed report, read alongside your other 140 results. They are not sold on their own.
Pay in instalments with Klarna or Clearpay at checkout. Want it with Advanced instead? Email support@truevitals.co.uk and we will set it up.
AMH is made by small follicles in the ovaries, each containing an immature egg. The more follicles you have, the higher your AMH. Because the number of eggs falls steadily with age, AMH falls too, reaching very low levels around menopause.
Unlike FSH, AMH stays fairly steady through the menstrual cycle, so you can test on any day.
AMH is reported in pmol/L and compared with age-specific ranges. A result that is low for your age suggests fewer eggs remain than average; a high result can fit PCOS. Your report uses the lab's own age bands.

When a blood test isn't the answer: if you have been trying to conceive for a year (or six months if you are 35 or over), see your GP for a fertility referral. AMH is one piece of the picture, not a fertility verdict.
A private panel is a good way to get a baseline, understand a result in context and track it over time. It does not replace your GP for symptoms, and anything that needs follow-up is flagged in plain words in your report.
AMH on its own rarely tells the whole story. In TrueVitals panels it is reported with these related markers:
No. AMH estimates how many eggs remain, not whether you can conceive now. Many women with low AMH conceive naturally.
Any day. AMH is fairly stable through the cycle. If you are also checking FSH and oestradiol in Ultimate, days 2 to 5 give the most useful reading for those.
Hormonal contraception can lower AMH somewhat. The result is still informative, and your report notes it if you tell us you are on contraception.
Not as standard. It is a £129 add-on to Ultimate.
Very low AMH suggests menopause is approaching, but it can't predict the date. In your 40s, FSH and your cycle pattern are more practical guides.
Yes. Ultimate + AMH with a home visit is £557.
How this page was written: by James Smillie, founder of TrueVitals, reviewed by the TrueVitals clinical review team, using NHS and laboratory reference sources. Ranges are typical values; your report uses your lab's own ranges. TrueVitals sells the panels named on this page, so we have stated plainly what this test cannot do. Last updated 5 November 2026.
Ultimate + AMH: £528 including the clinic draw. Clinician-reviewed report within 4 working days.
