Specialist markers are rarely part of a standard health check or GP blood test, and typically cost £50 or more to test on their own: things like Lp(a), homocysteine, ApoE, IGF-1, cystatin C and fasting insulin. Advanced includes 3, Ultimate 7 and Signature 45.

calc Calculated from your measured results. Prices include the clinic blood draw; Advanced and Ultimate also offer a home visit for £29. Panel counts include the calculated indices each report produces. Signature's count also includes Randox's own summary assessments and body-composition estimates, which are grouped together here.

Questions people ask

What is the difference between the Advanced, Ultimate and Signature blood tests?

Advanced (74 biomarkers, £319) covers the core systems: full blood count, cholesterol with ApoB and ApoA-1, liver, kidney, glucose and HbA1c, iron and vitamins, thyroid (TSH, Free T4, Free T3), testosterone, SHBG, LH, cortisol and DHEA-S. Ultimate (140 biomarkers for men, 139 for women, £399) adds the complete female and male hormone picture (FSH, oestradiol, progesterone, prolactin), Lp(a), fasting insulin and C-peptide, cystatin C, thyroid antibodies, PTH, tumour markers, immunoglobulins, coeliac screening, urine culture, PhenoAge and TrueScore. Signature (230 biomarkers, £799) is processed by Randox Health and adds specialist markers such as homocysteine, ApoE, IGF-1, cardiac injury markers, ANA, anti-CCP, extra tumour markers and physical measurements.

Which panel should I choose for HRT or menopause?

Ultimate. Advanced does not measure FSH, oestradiol or progesterone, which are the core markers for menopause and HRT monitoring. Ultimate includes all three plus prolactin, SHBG, testosterone, thyroid antibodies, Lp(a) and fasting insulin.

Does Advanced include Lp(a) and fasting insulin?

No. Lp(a), fasting insulin, C-peptide and HOMA-IR are in Ultimate and Signature only. Advanced includes ApoB, ApoA-1 and the ApoB/A-1 ratio, glucose and HbA1c.

Is everything in Ultimate also in Signature?

Almost. Signature adds around 90 extra markers, but because it runs on Randox Health's laboratory rather than our UKAS partner laboratory, a few Ultimate markers are not on it: free PSA and the PSA ratio, RDW, MPV, total protein, and urine culture with sensitivities. If free PSA matters to you, choose Ultimate or ask us about adding it to Signature.

Can I check whether a specific test is included?

Yes. Paste or type the tests you have been asked to have into the checker at the top of this page. It shows which panel covers all of them, and lists anything missing from each panel.

Are some markers only tested in men or women?

Yes. PSA is tested for men; CA-125 and CA 15-3 for women. That is why Ultimate is 140 biomarkers for men and 139 for women.

What does 'calc' mean?

Calculated. Some results are clinical indices worked out from measured values, such as HOMA-IR from glucose and insulin, or FIB-4 from liver enzymes and platelets. They are listed so you can see exactly what your report will show.

Marker lists checked against each panel's published biomarker list and real reports, November 2026. Every report is clinician-reviewed.
