Bluecrest Review 2026: Is Bluecrest Worth It?

Bluecrest Review
Is a Bluecrest Health Check Worth It? (2026)

Short answer: yes, if you want an affordable, local health check that measures your heart, lungs and circulation as well as your blood. Bluecrest's Health MOTs cost £179 to £339, run at 400+ venues across the UK and Ireland, take about 20 minutes and combine a venous blood sample with an ECG, blood pressure, lung function and body composition. It is rated Excellent on Trustpilot and Feefo. The trade-off is depth: the blood side of a Health MOT is 24 to 37 readings, and thyroid, vitamins and hormones are separate purchases.

Facts checked on bluecrestwellness.com, Trustpilot and Feefo, November 2026. Written by James Smillie, founder of TrueVitals, which competes with Bluecrest: see our bias statement below.

Packages and Prices

Bluecrest packages and prices (November 2026)

Bluecrest's main product is the Health MOT, in three tiers, with cancer-risk, hormone and vitamin packages alongside. These are the prices and contents shown on bluecrestwellness.com when we checked.

PackagePriceWhat Bluecrest listsGP
Active Health MOT£17924 blood readings: kidney (sodium, urea, creatinine, eGFR), liver (ALP, ALT, gamma GT, bilirubin), cholesterol (triglycerides, HDL, LDL), HbA1c, bone and muscle (calcium, phosphate, uric acid), proteins and iron. 7 non-blood tests24/7 GP helpline
Core Health MOT£23936 blood readings: everything in Active plus a full blood count with white cell subtypes and platelets, haemoglobin, MCH and red cell count. 7 non-blood tests24/7 GP helpline

Prices and contents from the Bluecrest package pages, checked November 2026. Bluecrest's health assessment overview page gives slightly different blood-reading counts for the same packages (22, 32 and 33), so we have used the individual package pages. Discount codes are common; the price you pay may be lower.

What the 7 non-blood tests are. Each Health MOT page lists blood pressure, a 6-lead ECG (heart rhythm), an ankle-brachial pressure index for peripheral arterial disease (ages 40 to 79, two limbs), a spirometry lung function check (ages 18 to 79), biometric body composition analysis, and a heart disease and stroke risk assessment calculated from your results. The pages name six; we could not find the seventh listed.

What is not in a Health MOT blood test. The Active, Core and Complete pages we read do not list thyroid tests, vitamin D, vitamin B12, folate, ferritin, testosterone or other hormones, ApoB or hs-CRP. Bluecrest sells vitamins and hormones as separate profiles, so if those matter to you, add them up before you compare prices.

What It Does Well

What Bluecrest does well

More than a blood test. This is Bluecrest's real strength. A 6-lead ECG, blood pressure, a lung function test and a circulation check in your legs are things a blood-only service cannot give you, and they matter: high blood pressure, an irregular heart rhythm or early COPD do not show up in a blood sample.

Low price for what you get. £179 for blood markers plus seven physical tests is a low entry price for an in-person check that includes physical tests, and the Complete package adds a GP consultation for £339.

Venous blood, taken by a person. Bluecrest's FAQs describe a proper venous draw from the arm, not a finger-prick, which avoids the failed-sample and haemolysis problems some home kits have. Most packages do not need fasting.

Convenient locations. Bluecrest says it has 400+ venues across the UK and Ireland, mostly hotel conference centres and mobile clinics, and that you can usually find an appointment within about 20 minutes of home or work. Appointments can be rescheduled online up to 24 hours before.

Clear results. Results arrive in the My Wellness dashboard and app with red, amber and green flags and trend tracking if you test again, and a printable PDF you can share with your GP. Bluecrest says critical results are communicated straight away.

Built for employers too. Bluecrest runs on-site health checks at workplaces at no extra cost for groups of 30 or more, which is why many people first meet it through their employer or insurer.

Reputation. Rated Excellent on Trustpilot (4.7 from 6,896 reviews) and on Feefo (4.6 for service) when we checked. Reviewers most often praise calm, friendly staff and quick, well-explained appointments.

Limitations

Where Bluecrest falls short

A narrow blood panel. 24 to 37 blood readings covers kidney, liver, cholesterol, HbA1c and (from Core) a full blood count. It does not cover the thyroid, vitamins, iron stores, hormones or advanced heart markers such as ApoB. These are common reasons people book a private blood test in the first place, and on Bluecrest they cost extra.

The GP helpline is not a results review. Every package includes a 24/7 GP helpline, but Bluecrest says it is not designed to discuss your health assessment results. A GP consultation to go through your results is only in Complete (£339) and the Cancer Risk packages. On Active and Core, abnormal results may mean a follow-up with your own GP.

Results timing varies. Some results appear in as little as three days and the full report within 8 days, but Bluecrest says more advanced tests can take several weeks, and a paper copy is extra (£10). Some Trustpilot reviewers mention delayed or missing results and slow replies from customer service.

Venue-based, not a clinic you can drop into. Most appointments are held at hotel conference centres or mobile units on set days. That keeps prices down, but some reviewers report appointments cancelled at short notice. There are no home visits for individuals.

A screening ECG is not a diagnostic ECG. Bluecrest uses a 6-lead ECG and says it may advise you to see a doctor for a 12-lead ECG. Treat an abnormal flag as a reason for follow-up, not a diagnosis.

The laboratory is not named. Bluecrest says samples go to a UKAS-accredited UK laboratory but does not name it on the pages we read. That is not a problem in itself, but it makes it harder to check the lab's scope of accreditation.

Experience

How a Bluecrest appointment works

Booking. You choose a package, then a venue and time online. Bluecrest says most people can find a venue within about 20 minutes of home or work. You can reschedule up to three times through My Wellness, up to 24 hours before.

On the day. A Health Assessment Specialist runs the physical tests and takes a venous blood sample from your arm. Bluecrest suggests drinking water beforehand to make the draw easier. The whole appointment takes around 20 minutes. Fasting is not needed except for the male hormone test (8 hours). Cancer Risk packages also include sample kits to complete at home.

Results. You get an email when results are ready in My Wellness. Some appear within three days, the full report within 8 days, and the downloadable PDF about two days after the results email. On Complete and Cancer Risk, you then book your GP consultation, and the GP has a copy of your report.

Verdict

Who should book Bluecrest, and who should choose something else

Book Bluecrest if:

You want a low-cost all-round check that includes blood pressure, an ECG, lung function and a circulation test. You mainly want the basics: cholesterol, blood sugar, kidney and liver. You want a GP to talk you through results (choose Complete). Your employer or insurer offers it. You are over 40 and want Bluecrest's cancer-risk tests alongside your bloods (the Cancer Risk packages).

Consider something else if:

You want thyroid, vitamins, iron stores and hormones in the same test. You are investigating symptoms such as tiredness, low mood or low libido, where those markers matter most. You want advanced heart markers such as ApoB. You want a home or office blood draw. You want a written report that reads every result together. See Bluecrest alternatives and UK blood test companies compared.

Before you pay, check the NHS Health Check. If you live in England and are aged 40 to 74 without existing heart disease, diabetes or stroke, the NHS says you should be invited to a free NHS Health Check every 5 years. It measures blood pressure, cholesterol and BMI and estimates your risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes and kidney disease. A private check like Bluecrest adds more tests and convenience, but the NHS version covers the core cardiovascular risk check for free.

Bluecrest or TrueVitals?

Bluecrest direct vs TrueVitals Ultimate or Signature

We make two of the alternatives, so weigh this accordingly. The honest summary: Bluecrest is wider on physical tests and cheaper; TrueVitals goes much deeper on blood.

Where400+ venues, UK and Ireland103 partner clinics or at homeRandox Health clinics

TrueVitals Ultimate (Ultimate panel) is a blood-first check: 140 biomarkers for £399 including the draw at one of 103 partner clinics, processed by Nationwide Pathology (UKAS-accredited). The report is clinician-reviewed, written from your own lifestyle quiz, reads every result together across body systems, and includes a PhenoAge biological age. Signature adds 90 more biomarkers and six physical measurements at a Randox Health clinic for £799.

When TrueVitals is not the right choice. If you want an ECG, a lung function test or a circulation check, Bluecrest does those and we do not. If you want a GP to talk you through your results, Bluecrest Complete includes that and our panels do not. If you mainly want cholesterol, blood sugar, kidney and liver at the lowest price, Bluecrest Active is cheaper. And if you live in Ireland, Bluecrest covers it; we do not. Ultimate is booked by phoning the clinic after you pay (the referral never expires), so if you want to pick a slot online at checkout, Bluecrest is easier.

How we reviewed (and our bias)

TrueVitals is a UK blood testing company; we compare ourselves too. We reviewed Bluecrest using only what its own website showed in November 2026, together with its Trustpilot and Feefo pages read the same month (reviewed 2 November 2026). We did not book a Bluecrest assessment for this review. Where Bluecrest's own pages disagreed (for example on blood-reading counts), we said so and used the individual package pages. We have led with what Bluecrest does well, said plainly where it is the better choice, and not compared its blood-reading count with our biomarker count as if they measured the same thing. Prices change often, so check before you buy. Written by James Smillie; reviewed by the TrueVitals clinical review team.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is Bluecrest legit?
Yes. Bluecrest Wellness is a long-running UK private health assessment company that says it has carried out more than a million assessments, across 400+ venues in the UK and Ireland. It says samples are analysed by a UKAS-accredited laboratory in the UK. When we checked in November 2026 it was rated Excellent on Trustpilot, 4.7 out of 5 from 6,896 reviews, and Excellent on Feefo, 4.6 out of 5 for service.
How much does a Bluecrest health check cost?
Prices on bluecrestwellness.com in November 2026: Active Health MOT £179, Core Health MOT £239 and Complete Health MOT £339. The Male and Female Cancer Risk packages (over 40s) are £319, or £519 combined with Complete. Hormone profiles are £119 to £169 and vitamin profiles £99 to £119. Bluecrest often runs discount codes, so check the basket price.
Does Bluecrest take blood from a vein or a finger-prick?
From a vein. Bluecrest's FAQs describe a Health Assessment Specialist trained in phlebotomy checking both arms, choosing the most accessible vein and using a needle, with cotton wool and pressure afterwards. The appointment, including the non-blood tests, takes around 20 minutes, and Bluecrest says there is usually no need to fast (its male hormone test is the exception).
How long do Bluecrest results take?
Bluecrest says processing times vary by test, with some results on your My Wellness dashboard in as little as three days. Its health assessment overview says you receive a detailed results report within 8 days, and its FAQs say some more advanced tests can take several weeks. Critical results are communicated straight away.
Does a Bluecrest health check include a GP?
Every package includes a 24/7 GP helpline for a year, but Bluecrest says the helpline is not designed to discuss your health assessment results. A private GP consultation by phone or webcam to go through your results is included in the Complete Health MOT (£339) and the Cancer Risk packages, not in Active or Core.
Is Bluecrest worth it?
For many people, yes, if what you want is a convenient, low-cost check of the basics plus heart, lung and circulation measurements you cannot get from a blood test. It is less suited to people who want a broad blood panel: the Health MOT blood lists we read do not include thyroid, vitamin D, B12 or sex hormones, which Bluecrest sells separately.
Is Bluecrest better than TrueVitals?
They do different jobs. Bluecrest is cheaper and adds an ECG, lung function, blood pressure and circulation checks. TrueVitals Ultimate (£399 including the clinic draw) tests 140 biomarkers (139 for women), including thyroid, vitamins, hormones, ApoB and Lp(a), with a clinician-reviewed report, but no ECG or lung test. Some people choose one; some do both.

Want the blood side in depth?

Ultimate: 140 biomarkers (139 for women), £399 including your blood draw, clinician-reviewed report within 4 working days. Or Signature: 230 biomarkers with physical measurements at a Randox Health clinic, £799.
