Short answer: Bluecrest is better for a lower-cost health MOT close to home that includes heart and lung checks; Randox Health is better for a broader blood panel, very fast results and a dedicated clinic. Bluecrest's Health MOTs cost £179 to £339 and combine 24 to 37 blood readings with 7 non-blood tests such as an ECG and spirometry. Randox's Everyman and Everywoman Complete cost £416 for two rounds of testing of up to 150 data points, with results typically within 1 to 2 days of reaching the lab. The two count tests differently, so marker numbers are not directly comparable.

Bluecrest sells three general Health MOTs, plus over-40s cancer risk packages and smaller hormone and vitamin profiles (from £99). Each Health MOT is shown next to a higher "individual tests" price; the prices below are what you pay.

Randox Health sells its Everyman and Everywoman health checks (in Basic and Complete versions; we did not see a Basic price on the product pages) and its premium Signature package, alongside single-topic tests and RanChip Insight 360.
| Randox Health package | Price | What Randox says it covers | Results |
|---|---|---|---|
| Everyman Complete / Everywoman Complete | £416 | Two rounds of testing of up to 150 data points across 18 to 19 health areas, including heart, diabetes, liver, kidney, thyroid, hormones, full blood count (Everywoman), urinalysis and personal health measurements; Health and Wellbeing discussion with Scientific Advisors | Typically 1 to 2 days from lab receipt, some within 2 hours |
| Signature | From £2,112 (£3,115 with follow-up testing) | 350+ biological markers, GP consultation, nutritional and lifestyle genetic analysis, resting ECG, height, weight and blood pressure; about 60 minutes | 3 to 5 working days; genetic report within 6 weeks |
Prices from each company's own product pages, checked November 2026. Randox's page on johnlewis.com showed a lower "from" price for Everyman and Everywoman and listed RanChip Insight 360 from £495, and Randox runs frequent offers, so the price you see may differ. Bluecrest charges £10 for a hardcopy results report; Randox charges £20 for a paper copy of the Signature report.
A note on counting. Bluecrest counts "blood readings" and "non-blood tests"; Randox counts "data points", which include physical measurements and urinalysis, and its Everyman and Everywoman figure covers two rounds of testing. Neither is a count of distinct blood biomarkers in a single visit. We have not tried to convert one into the other, and you should be wary of any comparison that does. If an exact test list matters to you, ask each company for it before you book.
Bluecrest leans towards a broad physical MOT. Alongside the blood tests (cholesterol and HbA1c, liver and kidney function including eGFR, proteins and iron, bone, energy and muscle markers, immune markers and, on Core and Complete, a blood health profile), every Health MOT includes 7 non-blood tests. On its Complete Health MOT page, Bluecrest names blood pressure, a 6-lead ECG for heart rhythm, a peripheral arterial disease check using ABPI on two limbs (ages 40 to 79), lung function by spirometry (ages 18 to 79) and body composition analysis. Few blood-only services offer an ECG or spirometry, and for some people those are the point of the visit.
Randox leans towards breadth of laboratory testing. Everyman and Everywoman cover 18 to 19 health areas, from heart, diabetes and metabolic syndrome to thyroid, hormones, iron, nutrition, allergy and pancreatic health, with urinalysis and personal health measurements. The Complete versions include two rounds of testing and optional repeat testing every six months. Randox's Signature goes much further, with 350+ markers, genetic analysis and a resting ECG, at a much higher price.
Preparation differs. Bluecrest says most of its tests no longer need fasting (its male hormone test does). Randox recommends fasting for 8 to 12 hours before Everyman and Everywoman, avoiding strenuous exercise for two days beforehand and stopping non-prescribed supplements, including biotin, at least two days before.
Bluecrest brings "the very latest mobile health check equipment" to a network of venues chosen for location, parking and transport links. It says it has over 400 health-assessment locations running 15,000 clinics, and that its appointments normally take under 30 minutes. A Health Assessment Specialist trained in phlebotomy takes a venous blood sample from your arm. Bluecrest also works with employers, so some people can get a check through a workplace benefits scheme. It says it has carried out over 560,000 health checks on over 250,000 customers, and that the Care Quality Commission rated it Good in July 2022.
Randox Health uses its own clinics, which it describes as "high-end, thoughtfully chosen locations": Randox Health clinics across the UK and Ireland (use the location finder on randoxhealth.com). Some sit at John Lewis locations; the John Lewis page lists Bluewater, Cheadle, Cheltenham, High Wycombe, Newcastle and Milton Keynes. Randox says an Everyman or Everywoman visit takes about 15 minutes, and Signature about 60. A few Randox clinics do not have on-site urinalysis facilities, so check your location.
Results. Bluecrest results go to its MyWellness dashboard and app with red, amber or green flags and a downloadable PDF. Randox says Everyman and Everywoman results are typically ready within 1 to 2 days of reaching its laboratory, which is unusually fast, though it notes this cannot always be guaranteed.
Both are rated Excellent on Trustpilot. When we checked uk.trustpilot.com in November 2026, Bluecrest Wellness scored 4.7 from 6,896 reviews and Randox Health 4.6 from 29,815 reviews. Both have large, long-running review bases, so the headline scores are reliable signals of general satisfaction. For laboratory quality, Bluecrest says its samples go to a UKAS-accredited laboratory certified to ISO 15189; Randox names Randox Clinical Laboratory Services (ISO 15189:2012, UKAS lab 9329) or an approved third-party provider.
You want a health MOT for under £350. You want an ECG, lung function, a circulation check and body composition in the same short appointment. You want a GP to talk your results through (Complete). You would rather go to a venue near home than travel to a clinic, or your employer offers Bluecrest as a benefit. See also our Bluecrest review and Bluecrest alternatives.
You want a wider range of laboratory tests and results within a day or two. You like the idea of two rounds of testing to track change. You want a dedicated clinic, perhaps combined with a shopping trip. You want genetic analysis, an ECG and a GP consultation in one premium package and are happy to pay for Randox Signature. See our Randox Health review and Randox alternatives.
If you are weighing a premium, employer-style assessment, our guide to the executive health check covers what to expect at the top end, and Medichecks vs Randox compares Randox with a blood-only service.
Bluecrest and Randox are health checks: blood tests plus measurements and, depending on the package, a conversation. Some people mainly want a very broad blood panel and a written analysis of it. That is what we make, and one of our panels runs through Randox, so weigh this section accordingly.
TrueVitals Ultimate (Ultimate panel) is 140 biomarkers (139 for women) for £399 including the blood draw at one of 103 partner clinics, or £29 extra for a home or office visit; Klarna splits it into 3 interest-free payments of £133. It includes ApoB and Lp(a), hs-CRP, HbA1c with insulin, cystatin C, full thyroid and hormone panels and tumour markers. Samples go to Nationwide Pathology (UKAS-accredited) and the clinician-reviewed report arrives within 4 working days of the lab receiving the sample.
TrueVitals Signature (Signature panel) is 230 biomarkers for £799 including the blood draw at a Randox Health clinic, processed through Randox Health, with results in up to 12 working days. It is not the same as Randox's own Signature package: it has no GP consultation, ECG or genetic analysis, and it costs considerably less.
Both TrueVitals reports are written from your own lifestyle quiz, read every result together across body systems rather than one marker at a time, and include a PhenoAge biological age.
When TrueVitals is not the right choice. If you want an ECG, spirometry, a circulation check or body composition, Bluecrest does those and we do not. If you want results within a day or two, Randox is faster. If you want a GP or adviser to talk your results through, both offer that and we do not. If your budget is under £200, Bluecrest's Active MOT costs less than any TrueVitals panel. And both let you book a slot online, whereas with TrueVitals Ultimate you book by phone with the clinic after you pay (the referral never expires).
A health check is a snapshot. It can flag results outside the reference range, raised blood pressure or an irregular heart rhythm, and it gives you something concrete to discuss with your GP. It cannot diagnose a condition on its own, a normal result does not rule one out, and screening-style tests such as tumour markers can be raised for harmless reasons or normal despite disease. Anything flagged should go to your GP for proper assessment.
In England, adults aged 40 to 74 without certain existing conditions such as heart disease, kidney disease, diabetes or a previous stroke should be invited to a free NHS Health Check every 5 years, which covers height, weight, waist, blood pressure, cholesterol and possibly blood sugar (nhs.uk, checked November 2026). Bluecrest, Randox and TrueVitals all go well beyond that, but if you have symptoms that worry you, see your GP first rather than waiting for a private appointment.
TrueVitals is a UK blood testing company; we compare ourselves too. We compared Bluecrest Wellness and Randox Health using only what their own websites, Randox's page on johnlewis.com and their Trustpilot pages showed in November 2026 (written 2 November 2026). We did not buy either package for this comparison, and neither company paid for or reviewed it. Our relationship with Randox is unusual: TrueVitals Signature is booked at Randox Health clinics and processed through Randox Health, so Randox is both a competitor and a supplier to us. We have no commercial relationship with Bluecrest. We have led with each company's strengths, avoided converting blood readings or data points into biomarker counts, and said plainly where each is the better choice. Prices change often, so check before you buy. Written by James Smillie; reviewed by the TrueVitals clinical review team.
Ultimate: 140 biomarkers (139 for women), £399 including your blood draw, clinician-reviewed report within 4 working days of the lab receiving your sample. Or Signature: 230 biomarkers at a Randox Health clinic, £799.
