Short answer: yes, for fast, targeted home tests, especially hormones and sport. Forth runs its samples through an NHS lab, returns most results within two working days, offers finger-prick, needle-free AutoDraw or venous collection, and has strong female-hormone and fitness panels. It is less good value as one big health check: its largest fixed panel, the Ultimate Health Check, is 47 biomarkers for £399 before the cost of a blood draw.

*Price plus Forth's partner-clinic draw (+£45, as shown on Forth's collection options and test pages); a home nurse is +£59 and arranging your own nurse is free. Prices from forthwithlife.co.uk, checked 1 November 2026. One older Forth sports page showed lower prices for the fitness tests on the same day, so check the price at checkout. Klarna (3 interest-free payments) is offered.
Forth gives you more ways to give a sample than most UK providers. Smaller tests can be done with a finger-prick kit at no extra cost. On some tests, including the fitness panels, you can choose Forth's AutoDraw device for £35 extra, which Forth marks as recommended. For a venous sample you can visit a partner clinic (+£45; Forth's site mentions GoodBody clinics and 400+ partner locations), have a nurse visit your home (+£59), or arrange your own nurse for free.
The bigger panels, Advanced and Ultimate, need a venous draw because they need more blood than a finger-prick gives. That is normal across the industry, and it is why the true cost of Forth's larger tests is the panel price and the cost of the draw added together. Our guide to finger-prick vs venous blood tests explains when each is fine.
Timing matters for some markers. Forth's fitness test page asks you to take the sample within three hours of waking and before eating, which is good practice for testosterone and other hormones.
Forth built its name in endurance sport: sports press coverage from 2017 onwards describes "Forth Edge" as its athlete testing brand. On forthwithlife.co.uk today the Edge name isn't used: sports tests sit under Sports & Athlete Blood Tests.
The Male Fitness & Athlete Blood Test (£135, 15 biomarkers) covers active B12, albumin, ferritin, FSH, free testosterone, haemoglobin, hs-CRP, LH, oestradiol, prolactin, red blood cells, SHBG, total testosterone, vitamin D and white blood cell count. There is a matching Female Fitness test, an Advanced Female Athlete Blood Test aimed at RED-S (relative energy deficiency in sport) using female hormone mapping, and a build-your-own sports test from 40+ biomarkers starting from £39.
These are well-chosen panels for checking recovery, iron status and hormones around a training block. What they don't do is look at the wider picture an athlete's GP might want: cardiovascular risk markers such as ApoB and Lp(a), insulin resistance, full thyroid with antibodies, or kidney function measured with cystatin C, which is less affected by muscle mass than creatinine. See our guides to blood tests for athletes and blood tests for gym-goers.
An NHS lab and quick results. Forth says its primary lab partner is Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, in UKAS-accredited labs, and most results reach your dashboard within two working days of the lab receiving the sample.
Hormone expertise. Its MyFORM female hormone mapping, perimenopause, menopause and PCOS tests are among the more thoughtful hormone products in the UK market, and its fitness tests include LH, FSH, SHBG and free testosterone rather than testosterone alone.
Choice of collection. Finger-prick, AutoDraw, clinic, home nurse or your own nurse: few providers offer all five.
Flexible repeat testing. The Baseline Health Check can be a flexible subscription, with a kit every 3, 4, 6 or 12 months, each charged when it is sent, and you can pause, change or cancel from your dashboard. You can also build your own test from 40+ biomarkers.
A useful app. Forth's HealthCoach turns results into health scores across ten areas and sets targets for your next test, and you can download a PDF to share with your GP.
The biggest panel is modest. The Ultimate Health Check is 47 biomarkers for £399, and £444 with a clinic draw. It does include an omega-6:3 ratio, which many panels lack, but that is also why it takes up to 15 working days.
Draws cost extra on venous panels. Advanced and Ultimate are venous only, so add £45 for a clinic or £59 for a nurse unless you arrange your own.
Comments, not a consultation. Forth's test pages say a doctor or nurse reviews results and comments on any outside the normal range. That's helpful, but it is a comment on flagged results rather than a full written interpretation of every result together.
A mixed review picture. Forth is rated Great on Trustpilot (TrustScore 4.1 from 1,733 reviews on 1 November 2026): most reviews are five-star, but around one in ten (11%) is one-star, compared with 9% for Thriva on the same day.
You want a fast, targeted test (hormones, iron, vitamin D, cholesterol) at home. You train and want to keep an eye on testosterone, ferritin and recovery markers across a season. You want detailed female hormone or perimenopause testing. You like choosing how your blood is taken, or want to build your own panel.
You want one comprehensive check of every major system in a single draw. You want ApoB, Lp(a), insulin resistance, tumour markers and cystatin C in the same draw as your hormones (we couldn't confirm these in Forth's main panels from its site, so check its biomarker list if they matter to you). You want a written interpretation of all your results together, not only comments on the ones outside range.

A blood test measures what it measures, on the day. Hard training in the day or two before a draw can raise markers such as CK, AST and ALT, and dehydration can shift haemoglobin and kidney markers, so a single odd result is often a timing issue rather than a problem. Retest under the same conditions before drawing conclusions. A normal result can't rule out conditions the test doesn't look at.
If you have symptoms (chest pain, breathlessness out of proportion to effort, fainting, unexplained weight loss, missed periods) or a result flagged as needing attention, speak to your GP rather than waiting for your next kit. In an emergency call 999.
We make one of the alternatives, so weigh this accordingly. For the same £399 as Forth's Ultimate Health Check, TrueVitals Ultimate tests 140 biomarkers (139 for women) and the price includes the blood draw at one of 103 partner clinics (or £29 extra for a home or office visit). Samples go to Nationwide Pathology (UKAS-accredited), and you get a clinician-reviewed report within 4 working days of the lab receiving the sample, written from your own lifestyle quiz and reading every result together across systems, with a PhenoAge biological age estimate. Ultimate includes ApoB, Lp(a), fasting insulin with HOMA-IR, cortisol and DHEA-S, full thyroid with antibodies, testosterone, SHBG, LH, FSH and prolactin, cystatin C, coeliac screening and tumour markers (with PSA for men). Klarna (3 interest-free payments of £133) and Clearpay are available. For the widest test we offer, Signature covers 230 biomarkers for £799 at Randox Health clinics, with results in up to 12 working days.
TrueVitals isn't the right choice if you want a finger-prick or needle-free home test (we only use venous draws), if you need one or two markers rather than a full panel (Forth's cholesterol test, for example, is £41), if you want omega-3 testing (Ultimate doesn't include it), if you want a subscription that sends kits on a schedule, or if you'd rather book your draw online: with us you book by phone after paying, and the referral never expires. Forth's female hormone mapping is also more specialised than anything in our panels.
TrueVitals is a UK blood testing company; we compare ourselves too. We reviewed Forth using only what forthwithlife.co.uk and its Trustpilot page showed on 1 November 2026; we did not buy a Forth test for this review. Where Forth's pages disagreed or were unclear, we said so or left the detail out. Prices change, so check before you buy. We've led with Forth's strengths and said plainly where TrueVitals is not the better choice. Written by James Smillie; reviewed by the TrueVitals clinical review team. Published 2 November 2026.
Ultimate: 140 biomarkers, £399 including your blood draw. Clinician-reviewed report within 4 working days. Or Signature: 230 biomarkers, £799. Not sure? Answer a few questions about you and see which markers are worth checking.
