Per-marker cost is the all-in clinic price divided by the marker count. A dash means we didn't confirm it on Medichecks' page that day. Medichecks' current panel and prices are on medichecks.com.

Two items. Active B12: Medichecks measures the active fraction of B12; Ultimate measures total B12 (Signature measures active B12). The testosterone:cortisol ratio: Ultimate measures both hormones but doesn't report the ratio as a line of its own.
86 further markers for men and 85 for women, counting the calculated indices and scores: the advanced lipids, the metabolic markers, AST and creatine kinase, cystatin C, electrolytes and minerals, progesterone, PTH, tumour markers, immune and coeliac screening, the full urinalysis, and PhenoAge.
Ultimate Performance is aimed at people who train, and its core is right for that: testosterone and its binding proteins, cortisol, thyroid, iron and a full blood count, including haematocrit. These are the markers that most often explain poor recovery, low energy or a stalled block of training. Where a training body needs more than that:
Muscle or liver? Hard training can raise ALT and AST, because both are also found in muscle. Creatine kinase, a muscle enzyme, is what tells a sore-muscle result apart from a liver one. Ultimate Performance has ALT but not AST or creatine kinase; Ultimate has all three, plus GGT, which is more liver-specific.
Kidneys and muscle mass. Creatinine-based eGFR comes partly from muscle, so a muscular person, or anyone taking creatine, can show a low eGFR with healthy kidneys. Cystatin C doesn't depend on muscle mass, which is why Ultimate includes it and calculates eGFR from it too.
Heart risk that cholesterol misses. Fitness doesn't lower Lp(a), which is genetic, and a normal LDL can hide a high ApoB. Neither is on Ultimate Performance. What gym-goers should test.
Fuel and hydration. Fasting insulin, glucose and HOMA-IR show how you handle carbohydrate; sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium matter if you sweat heavily or cut weight.
Timing matters on either test. Medichecks asks for a sample between 6am and 10am and no vigorous exercise for two days beforehand, which is sound advice for any hormone panel. The Endocrine Society's guideline on testosterone (Bhasin et al., J Clin Endocrinol Metab, 2018) recommends confirming a low result with a repeat morning, fasting measurement, so one low reading on its own is a reason to retest properly, not a diagnosis.
On TRT or using anything else? If you're prescribed testosterone, your prescriber should be monitoring haematocrit and PSA; ask them before changing anything. If you're using anabolic steroids without a prescription, the safest option is not to use them. They are Class C drugs in the UK, and your GP or a local needle-and-syringe programme can help without judgement. A blood test can show some of the effects; it can't make them safe. TRT monitoring blood test.
Your question is hormones, thyroid and iron. If you want to check testosterone, oestradiol, cortisol, thyroid with antibodies and ferritin after a change in training or diet, Ultimate Performance covers exactly that, with a doctor's comments, for £234 with a clinic draw: £165 less than Ultimate.
You want results fast. Medichecks estimates 3 working days from the lab receiving the sample, a day quicker than our 4.
You care about active B12. It is a more direct measure of usable B12 than the total B12 on Ultimate.
You want to choose your own collection. You pick a partner clinic, a nurse at home or your own phlebotomist when you order. TrueVitals books by phone after payment, which suits some people and not others.
You retest often. If you check the same hormone markers every few months, a smaller panel at a lower price is the sensible repeat test. Many people pair a deep annual baseline with smaller checks in between.
If you only need one or two markers, a single Medichecks test is the right tool; we don't sell single markers. If you want a finger-prick kit, we don't offer one. If your budget is £250, Ultimate Performance or a similar focused panel is the realistic option. And if you have symptoms that worry you now, start with your GP, not a private panel.
Where Ultimate is the stronger choice is a full baseline: heart, metabolic, kidney, liver, muscle, hormones, immune and screening markers in one draw, with a report that reads them together and a named account manager to ask afterwards. See how the wider ranges compare in Medichecks alternative, or every provider in the best blood tests in the UK, ranked.
Either panel tells you where your markers sit on the day of the draw. Results can move with training, sleep, illness, alcohol, supplements and the time of day, which is why both providers give preparation instructions. Neither panel diagnoses a condition on its own. Tumour markers in particular can be raised or normal for reasons that have nothing to do with cancer. Anything that needs follow-up is flagged in a TrueVitals report with what to take to your GP.
£199 for the test, plus the blood draw: £35 at a Medichecks partner clinic (£234 all in) or £59 for a nurse home visit (£258 all in). Arranging your own phlebotomist is free on Medichecks' side, but you pay the phlebotomist. Checked on medichecks.com, November 2026.
56: full blood count, cholesterol and triglycerides, HbA1c, uric acid, liver and kidney function, TSH, free T3 and free T4 with thyroid antibodies, testosterone, calculated free testosterone, SHBG, oestradiol, LH, FSH, prolactin, cortisol, DHEA-S, the testosterone to cortisol ratio, iron studies, active B12, folate, vitamin D and hs-CRP.
It depends what you need. Ultimate Performance is a focused hormone, thyroid, iron and blood-count panel for £234 with a clinic draw, with a doctor's comments and an estimated 3 working days from the lab receiving the sample. TrueVitals Ultimate is £399 including the draw and covers all but two Ultimate Performance markers plus 86 more for men (85 for women), including ApoB, Lp(a), fasting insulin, HOMA-IR, creatine kinase, cystatin C, electrolytes, magnesium, PSA and urinalysis, in a clinician-reviewed written report.
Its published list does not include ApoB, Lp(a), fasting insulin or HOMA-IR, glucose, creatine kinase, AST, cystatin C, sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, progesterone, PSA, other tumour markers, immunoglobulins, coeliac screening or urinalysis. Medichecks sells some of these as separate tests.
Yes. Medichecks says a doctor's comments are included in this test. You can choose results only, without the doctor's comments, if you have your own clinician to interpret them.
No. On medichecks.com in November 2026 every collection option for Ultimate Performance was a venous draw: a partner clinic (£35), a nurse at home (£59) or a professional you arrange yourself. TrueVitals Ultimate is also venous only, at 103 partner clinics with the draw included or at home for £29.
One venous draw, read together across every system, clinician-reviewed, with PhenoAge on every report and results within 4 working days of the lab receiving your sample. Klarna: 3 interest-free payments of £133.
