One Day Tests Review 2026: Is It Worth It? Prices and Verdict
Review

One Day Tests Review
Is It Worth It? (2026)

Short answer: yes, if speed is what you care about most. One Day Tests runs its own UKAS-accredited laboratory in West Sussex and a network of 40+ walk-in clinics, and most results come back in 1 to 2 days. Its biggest panel, Ultimate Longevity, tests 74 biomarkers for £360 including the clinic fee. It is less suited to anyone who wants a written, joined-up interpretation of their results or the widest possible panel in one draw.

Facts checked on onedaytests.com and Trustpilot, 5 November 2026. Written by James Smillie, founder of TrueVitals, a competitor: see our bias statement below.

How It Works

How One Day Tests works

You choose a test online, from single markers such as vitamin D (£39) up to full panels, then either book a walk-in clinic appointment or order a home kit. Because One Day Tests owns its laboratory, samples go straight to its own lab in West Sussex rather than a third party, which is a large part of why it can report so quickly.

Results are emailed as a secure PDF and uploaded to an online health dashboard with explanations. If you want to talk them through, you can book a GP video consultation, usually for the same or next day, at extra cost. The biggest panels, such as Ultimate Longevity, need a clinic visit; smaller tests can be done with a finger-prick at home.

What It Does Well

What One Day Tests does well

Genuinely fast. Owning the laboratory means most results land in 1 to 2 days. If you need an answer before an appointment, a trip or a training block, few UK providers are quicker.

Its own accredited lab. One Day Tests states UKAS accreditation to ISO 15189:2022 for its own laboratory, so you know exactly who is running your sample.

Lots of walk-in clinics. With 40+ clinics across England, Wales and Scotland, many people can get to one easily, and the site offers both venous and finger-prick options.

A strong flagship panel. Ultimate Longevity includes ApoB, Lp(a), homocysteine, cortisol, thyroid antibodies and active B12, which many panels at this price leave out.

Very well reviewed. Excellent on Trustpilot with a 4.8 TrustScore from almost 6,000 reviews; reviewers most often praise friendly staff, easy booking and fast results.

Limitations

Where One Day Tests falls short

Results, not a joined-up report. Results come with dashboard explanations, but a written review of how your markers fit together is not part of the price; a GP video call costs extra. Some Trustpilot reviewers mention results without detailed explanations and a dashboard that is hard to read or download.

No fasting insulin in the biggest panel. Ultimate Longevity has ApoB and Lp(a) but not fasting insulin, so insulin resistance (often the earliest metabolic warning sign) is not measured. It also uses standard CRP rather than high-sensitivity CRP, as far as the page states, and no cystatin C.

The headline price excludes the clinic fee. Ultimate Longevity is £325 plus a £35 clinic fee, so the real price is £360.

Narrower than the largest panels. At 74 biomarkers it is broad, but it has no tumour markers beyond what you add separately, no coeliac screen and no calculated indices such as biological age.

Verdict

Who should, and shouldn't, use One Day Tests

One Day Tests is a good choice if:

Speed matters most, for example you want results before an appointment in a couple of days. You live near one of its 40+ clinics. You want ApoB, Lp(a) and homocysteine in one panel and are happy to read the results yourself or pay for a GP call. You only need a single marker and want it quickly.

Look elsewhere if:

You want fasting insulin, cystatin C, tumour markers and coeliac screening in the same draw. You want a written interpretation that connects your results, included in the price. You want a home visit for a large venous panel.

Know The Limits

What any blood test can and can't tell you

A blood test is a snapshot of the markers it measures, on the day it was taken. It can show patterns worth acting on, such as raised LDL cholesterol, low ferritin or an HbA1c drifting upwards, and repeat tests can show whether a change is working. It can't rule out conditions it doesn't measure, it doesn't replace an examination, and one slightly abnormal value is often explained by hydration, recent exercise, illness or the time of day.

Whichever provider you use, take symptoms seriously in their own right. Chest pain, unexplained weight loss, blood in your stools or urine, or a result your report flags as needing prompt attention should go to your GP (or NHS 111, or 999 in an emergency).

Alternatives

How One Day Tests compares with TrueVitals (and when we're not the right choice)

We make one of the alternatives, so weigh this accordingly. TrueVitals Ultimate is one venous test of 140 biomarkers (139 for women) for £399 including the blood draw at one of 103 partner clinics, or £29 extra for a home or office visit. The sample goes to Nationwide Pathology (UKAS-accredited) and you get a clinician-reviewed report within 4 working days of the lab receiving it. An AI model reads every result together with your own lifestyle quiz to find patterns across systems, code checks every value against the lab's own result, and a clinician reviews the report before you see it. It includes PhenoAge biological age, ApoB, Lp(a), fasting insulin with HOMA-IR, cortisol, full thyroid with antibodies, cystatin C, coeliac screening and tumour markers (with PSA for men). No subscription: pay once and test when you like. Klarna and Clearpay are available at checkout.

TrueVitals isn't the right choice if you need results within a day or two (One Day Tests is faster), you only need one or two markers (a single test from One Day Tests or Medichecks is cheaper), or you'd rather book your draw slot online: with us you book by phone after paying, and the referral never expires.

How we reviewed (and our bias)

TrueVitals is a UK blood testing company; we compare ourselves too. We reviewed One Day Tests using only what onedaytests.com and Trustpilot showed on 5 November 2026; we did not buy a test from One Day Tests for this review. Where the site didn't state something clearly, we left it out or said so. Prices and menus change, so check before you buy. We have led with One Day Tests' strengths and said plainly where TrueVitals is not the better choice. Written by James Smillie; reviewed by the TrueVitals clinical review team.
