Sorted by all-in price. All-in = panel price + the cheapest professional blood draw the provider sells (finger-prick kits have no draw cost). Turnaround as stated by each provider, usually counted from when the lab receives the sample. Sources: each provider's own product pages, checked 16 October 2026. Scroll sideways on mobile.

Key Findings

What the numbers show

The draw changes the ranking. Venous panels are advertised without the draw. Adding it puts £19–£59 on top, so a £249 panel becomes £284.

Finger-prick is cheapest, but smaller. The cheapest tests are finger-prick kits from Medichecks, Numan and Forth, at 19–47 biomarkers. Forth's Advanced (47 markers, £167) was the cheapest finger-prick test with more than 40 markers.

Best value mid-sized panel: Lola Health Peak Insights 70 at £235 all-in (£3.36 per marker).

Lowest cost per biomarker: TrueVitals Ultimate at £2.63 (140 markers, £368 all-in). It costs more in total than the mid-sized panels.

What this index leaves out

Thriva: we couldn't find Thriva's current panel prices on its public pages, so we left it out rather than guess. Single-marker tests (vitamin D, PSA, thyroid only) are excluded: this index covers multi-marker health panels. Discounts and subscriptions aren't included; we use the standard one-off price shown on each provider's product page.

For what each panel actually tests, not just price, see UK blood test companies compared, Medichecks vs Lola Health and the best blood test in the UK.

Method and bias

For each provider we took the standard one-off price and biomarker count from its own product page on 16 October 2026, then added the cheapest professional blood draw it sells for that panel (clinic or home visit; self-arranged collection is excluded because you pay the phlebotomist separately). Price per biomarker = all-in price ÷ listed biomarkers. TrueVitals compiles this index and is one of the providers listed; our own panels are shaded. TrueVitals facts: Ultimate: 140 biomarkers (139 for women), £349 + £19 clinic draw or £39 home visit, venous sample, Nationwide Pathology (UKAS-accredited), clinician-reviewed report within 4 working days, 103 partner clinics. Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

How much does a private blood test cost in the UK?
In October 2026, finger-prick kits with 19 to 47 biomarkers cost £89 to £167, and venous panels with 45 to 70 biomarkers cost £160 to £284 once the blood draw is included. Comprehensive panels with 140 or more biomarkers cost £368 (TrueVitals Ultimate, with a clinic draw) to £799 (TrueVitals Signature at Randox Health clinics).
What is the cheapest comprehensive blood test in the UK?
Of the venous panels with 50 or more biomarkers we checked, Lola Health's Peak Insights 70 had the lowest all-in price: £235 with a phlebotomist visit or clinic draw. The lowest price per biomarker was TrueVitals Ultimate at £2.63 (140 biomarkers for £368 all-in).
Why do blood test prices look different from the advertised price?
Most venous panels are advertised without the blood draw. Medichecks adds £35 for a partner-clinic draw (£59 for a nurse at home), Lola Health adds £35, and TrueVitals adds £19 for a clinic draw (£39 at home). Finger-prick kits don't need a draw, but in our index they test fewer markers (19–47).
How is price per biomarker calculated?
We divide the all-in price (panel plus cheapest professional draw) by the number of biomarkers the provider lists for that panel. It's a rough value measure: it doesn't weigh which markers are included or how results are reviewed.
How often is this price index updated?
Monthly. Prices are checked on each provider's own website, and the date checked is shown at the top of the table. Providers change prices and run offers, so always confirm before you buy.
